New ECF Manager of Arbiters

After two years in post, IA Alan Atkinson (far left) is looking to move on from the ECF Manager of Arbiters role. We would like to thank Alan for his considerable contribution in supporting our arbiter community during his tenure.

As Alan steps down we are very pleased to announce that FA Ravi Sandhu (left) has agreed to take on the role from Alan with the handover in progress and due to complete shortly. Ravi is an experienced arbiter and we are confident he will continue the good work in this area, including maintaining the arbiter database, organising training, and recommending arbiter appointments including liaising with the FIDE arbiter’s commission.

IA Lara Barnes remains in post as the Federation’s Chief Arbiter, where she is responsible for producing guidance on changes to the laws of chess and related regulations, providing input and guidance on arbiter education, and resolving disputes related to the laws of chess and related event regulations where raised with the ECF.
