After the Northumbria Masters’ successful relaunch last August, this year the Bank Holiday Weekend congress has moved to St. Mary’s Catholic School, Newcastle upon Tyne on 26-30 August.
Entries are being accepted for the following tournaments: Northumbria Masters Open, Challengers (Under 2000 FIDE), Major (Under 1750 ECF), Minor (Under 1500 ECF) and One-Day Junior Rapidplay (for Under 18s on 1/1/22). Places are filling up quickly, so players are advised to enter early to avoid disappointment.
There are also title norm tournaments for GM and IM norms. Along with the top games from the Masters Open, these tournaments will be live broadcast on Chess24, Chess.com and Lichess.
