York Junior Chess Day

The above event was held at Archbishop Church of England Junior School, Bishopthorpe, York on Saturday 24th September. There were 60 entries and event was opened by the Lord Mayor David Taylor and Mayoress of York. Thanks to the John Robinson Fund for financialsupport, and also Chess and Bridge, who donated prizes

International Master James Adair and Lateefah Messam-Sparks were guests who assisted in training and chess development. Three sections were formed and a 5 round Swiss competition was organised —
