Go Phoebe!

This entry is part 5 of 28 in the series World Schools 2012

High hopes for a first win for Phoebe Price (left), age 15, who is playing in the Under 17 girls. She is facing tough competition as an unrated player against a category of nearly all older, FIDE-rated players today.
Her 2nd round game on Sunday lasted over 4 hours. She says, “I kept fighting!” but ultimately, she was overcome.
Today, Phoebe spent the morning training with her coach, IM Lawrence Cooper, going through key opening strategies.
She and her sister Olivia (right) are lunching at Pizza Hut, a Romanian ‘delicacy’, and will head over to the sport hall shortly. Olivia will be attending King’s College this September to study medicine – she will be on hand should triage be needed!
